PC&FPF Awarded Another Scholarship This Week!

We were privileged to present a scholarship this week to one of our Plymouth Police Explorers. Annika Tarnanen met all of the criteria to qualify for her scholarship, and she will be seeking her degree in Criminal Justice from St. Cloud State University,

Funds for scholarships come from the Corky Ornburg Scholarship Fund, which was most recently funded by Corky’s wife, Margaret, and son, Jeffrey, in his memory. Corky was a founding member of PC&FPF, and served as Treasurer for 40 years until his passing on January 25, 2018. He was recognized with the “Public Safety Legacy Award” by Public Safety Director, Mike Goldstein, in 2017.

PC&FPF Presents The 15TH Annual Firefighters 5K Walk/Run and Kids Fun Run!

Join the members of Plymouth Crime & Fire Prevention Fund (PC&FPF), the Plymouth Firefighters, and the Medicine Lake Run Group for the
15th Annual 5K Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run on Saturday, September 28th, 2019
at Plymouth Fire Station 2, 12000 Old Rockford Road (Old Rockford Road & Larch Lane).  The 3.1 mile course is laid out south of the Fire Station on neighborhood city streets with gently rolling hills.

– Registrations received by Sept. 15th are $20
– Registrations received by Thursday, September 26th are eligible for door prizes!
– Registration received September 16th or after, and Race Day $25

Kids Fun Run is Free and online and race day registration is available

All proceeds from this event will benefit the Plymouth Crime & Fire Prevention Fund (PC&FPF), a 501(c)(3) non-profit, all volunteer
organization made up of Plymouth residents and business persons whose mission is to partner with the Plymouth Public Safety Department to identify, develop, and support special initiatives that reduce crime and enhance safety in our community.

Two Scholarships Were Presented Yesterday From The Corky Ornburg Scholarship Fund!

We were privileged to present scholarships yesterday to two of our Plymouth Firefighters, from the Corky Ornburg Scholarship Fund, which was most recently funded by Corky’s wife, Margaret, and son, Jeffrey, in his memory.  Corky was a founding member of PC&FPF, and served as Treasurer for 40 years until his passing on January 25, 2018.  He was recognized with the “Public Safety Legacy Award” by Public Safety Director, Mike Goldstein, in 2017.

Adam Kragthorpe & Jeremiah Steele, met all of the criteria to qualify for their scholarships, and both are pursuing their Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification. With these skills, they will be able to provide on the scene, immediate medical care to patients in emergency situations, which will be a tremendous asset to our city!  Congratulations Adam & Jeremiah!

Corky was a founding member of PC&FPF, and served as Treasurer for 40 years until his passing on January 25, 2018. He was recognized with the “Public Safety Legacy Award” by Public Safety Director, Mike Goldstein, in 2017.

Margaret was able to come to the presentation, and was able to meet the first two recipients since their donation!
 
One of our Plymouth Police Reserves members, Karleigh Johnson, received another scholarship for her pursuit of a Criminal Justice Degree at St. Cloud State University.
 
The other recipient is one of our Plymouth Firefighters, Jamel S. Anderson. He is seeking his B.S. Degree in Fire & Emergency Services Administration through Colorado State University online!
